I don't rave about books often (mostly because I read crap romantic suspense paperbacks) but I am 20 pages away from finishing The House at Riverton by Kate Morton and I highly recommend it. It's a beautiful novel, and I can certainly see it becoming a movie. It's told from the perspective of a 98-year-old woman in a nursing home remembering her days as a maid in an English manor and while that sounds stuffy, there's a lot of intrigue, romance and suspense that happens to this family.
ETA: Finished. Holy cow one of the best books I'v ever read. Wow ... just... wow.
